Ian Jeffers, Co-operation Ireland CEO, highlights the importance of the North–South Business Cooperation Awards

Following the launch of the Stelios Foundation North-South Business Cooperation Awards Ireland Cooperation Awards 2025, we are pleased to share a contribution from Ian Jeffers, CEO of Co-operation Ireland, who reflected on the significance of this new initiative and the opportunity it represents for entrepreneurs across the island of Ireland.

The Awards were officially launched on 18 June 2025 by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou at an event held at the Monaghan Peace Campus. The initiative recognises and supports business cooperation between the north and south of the island, encouraging sustainable cross-border partnerships and celebrating innovation through enterprise.

This new programme is inspired by a similar initiative run by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation in Cyprus, where bi-communal business prizes have been supporting Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs working together for over 17 years.
