Last night, the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou were honoured to be represented at the Celebration of Scholarships at the London School of Economics (LSE).
Richard Shackleton, Director of Communications at easyGroup, spoke on behalf of Sir Stelios and the Foundation. He shared the history of the Stelios Scholarships and Sir Stelios’s commitment to education.
So far, 145 scholarships have been awarded, with a total contribution of £3.7 million to LSE. These scholarships help talented students access world-class education, regardless of their financial background.
The event included speeches from Professor Larry Kramer, who spoke about the impact of scholarships, and Grace Kejo, a scholar from The Beacon Equity Trust, who highlighted the importance of supporting potential.
It was a great evening to recognise the value of education and the opportunities these scholarships provide.
