Sir Stelios and 60 other generous philanthropists and proud parents of students in Monaco raise €102,000 euro for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, in support of young people, during a charity dinner in the presence of HRH The Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh KG KT GCVO , Chair of the Award www.intaward.org .
Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, creator and owner of the easy family of brands (see www.easyHistory.info ) and the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation (www.stelios.mc) were delighted to host a charity dinner for 60 guests last night at the Stelios Foundation Conference Hall in Monaco. The charity dinner was held to raise awareness of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, an international charity supporting young people aged 14 to 24 in more than 120 countries including Monaco , to find their purpose, place and passion in the world.
We are delighted to say that the attendees donated €51,000 euro for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, with the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation providing match funding.
For almost 70 years, the Award has been helping young people transform their lives and their communities. It empowers young people to develop universal skills such as resilience, adaptability, creativity, problem solving, decision-making and communication. It is delivered in over 120 countries and territories (including the International School of Monaco www.ismonaco.org and the British School of Monaco www.britishschool.mc) and there have been more than 1.1 million Award participants since it was founded in 1956 by the late Prince Philip.
