Sea Cadets On the Water programme supported by Stelios Philanthropic Foundation re-opens this week.

The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation are delighted to generously support two major Sea Cadets projects benefitting both cadets and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the wider community.  The purchase of 6 RS21 keelboats enabling cadets to take their sailing training to a whole new level and a lead sponsor on the exciting On The Water project engaging with hard-to-reach children and young people through opportunities to learn water based sports.

The On The Water programme’s 2nd year was unfortunately cancelled last year due to the pandemic, but we are delighted to confirm the project re-opened this week with full participation at its London site Royal Docks, Newham.  And the programme now includes two further locations Crosby in Merseyside and Sea Cadets’ new Midlands Boat Station in Birmingham.

A quote from a parent in the programme’s first year:  “He has never done anything like this before and he enjoyed it so much, his confidence has noticeably improved… it has brought out a side of him we haven’t seen before and it is a joy to see.”
